For Android users who prefer manual installs, some search for ニコニコ動画 APK, but the app works like any standard viewer once installed.

ニコニコ動画 Features

Catch up viewing across genres

ニコニコ動画 supports catch up streaming for currently airing anime. You can revisit missed episodes and browse popular movies in one place. Open the episode list, choose what you skipped, and continue on your phone.

Watch with comments

Comments appear over the video while you watch. They add context and tips from other viewers, helping you notice small details. You enjoy a shared viewing feeling while keeping control of playback.

Creator content and uploads

Explore Vocaloid, singing and dancing, VTuber, MMD, and game play by play videos. Official programs are available alongside user uploads. You can also post your own videos from your smartphone. Before uploading, check that you are on the ニコニコ動画 latest version.

Premium member options

If you choose premium membership, you can watch member only videos and reduce interruptions with no ads. Background playback and a data saving mode suit mobile use, and expanded comment colors allow more expression. These options appear in the app for eligible accounts.
