Clash Royale Season 86 Update

2026-08-06
Clash Royale Season 86 arrives August 3, 2026. Here's what to expect from the next Clash Royale season update, including the Undead Bazaar and free Hero Tombstone.
Clash Royale Season 86 is set to arrive on August 3, 2026, and Supercell has already sketched out what the next Clash Royale season update will bring. Think of this Clash Royale season 86 preview as your cheat sheet for everything heading into the new season. If you've been playing through Season 85, you've seen the groundwork: a new Hero, a complete progression overhaul, and a teaser for the Clash Royale Undead Bazaar.
Here's everything we know about Clash Royale Season 86 before the servers update, plus what's actually worth watching for when the season goes live.
When Does Clash Royale Season 86 Start?
Season 86 kicks off on Sunday, August 3. Seasons usually go live around 10:00 AM UTC, but the exact rollout drifts a bit by region. A rough timezone conversion:
- 3:00 AM PT (Los Angeles)
- 6:00 AM ET (New York)
- 11:00 AM BST (London)
- 7:00 PM JST (Tokyo)
Season 85 wraps up on August 2. Spend your Season Shop tokens and claim any leftover Trophy Road rewards before then. They don't carry over.
What the Clash Royale Season 86 Update Will Include
Supercell hasn't published full patch notes for Season 86 yet. But the official June 2026 update blog left a clear trail. Here's what's confirmed and what's likely.
The Undead Bazaar Is the Season 86 Theme
The June update explicitly said Hero Tombstone would be available for free "along with other items from the Undead Bazaar coming next season." That next season is Season 86. The Clash Royale Undead Bazaar sounds like the season's thematic centerpiece, probably an event shop built around the zombie and skeleton aesthetic the June blog leaned into.
Will it be a full event track, or just a themed shop tab? No way to know yet. If the usual Clash Royale season pattern holds, expect a matching tower skin and season exclusive emotes either way. The past few seasons have each shipped with a distinct visual identity, and the undead direction fits cleanly with what Season 85 set up.
Hero Tombstone Goes Free to Play
If you didn't grab Hero Tombstone through Pass Royale in Season 85, this is the big one. Season 86 unlocks it for free through the Undead Bazaar event.
Hero Tombstone's ability, Regal Revival, summons the Tomb Queen, a building targeting unit that costs 6 Elixir and destroys the Tombstone itself when activated. It's been divisive in the meta so far. The card asks you to give up a building for an aggressive push, which isn't a trade every archetype wants to make. Free access could nudge up its ladder presence. We'll know by week two whether that actually happens.
Balance Changes Are All but Certain
Clash Royale ships balance adjustments at nearly every season boundary. Season 86 won't be different. The June update dropped Princess Evolution, Princess Gambit mode, and the Collection Level system. All of those have now had a full season to bake into the meta.
Expect nerfs to whatever overperformed in Season 85, with possible buffs to underused Evolutions or Heroes. Supercell usually posts balance notes a day or two before the season drops, so check the in game News tab this weekend.
Seasonal Trophy Road Keeps Running
The June update split Seasonal Trophy Road into two arenas. Arena I works like the old system: earn trophies, collect rewards, play whatever you want. Arena II bans your eight most used cards from Arena I and asks you to build around the rest of your collection. All cards below Level 15 get boosted to Level 15 minimum, so you aren't punished for experimenting.
Season 86 will be the second full season with this split. Players who already cleared Arena I in Season 85 should have a feel for which cards to save. If you burned your best win condition in Arena I last season, plan ahead this time.
Will Season 86 Add a New Evolution?
Nobody outside Supercell knows for sure. There hasn't been an official confirmation of a new Evolution or card for Season 86. The June blog focused on what was coming right then, not the season after.
The release cadence makes a new Evolution likely at some point soon, but "soon" could mean Season 86 or Season 87. Reddit speculation points both ways. Are you holding off on spending Evolution Shards until the patch notes hit? Not a bad idea. If you're looking for concrete Clash Royale Season 86 details on new cards, the safest move is to wait for official patch notes. Those usually land within 48 hours of a season launch.
What Season 85 Changed, and Why It Matters for Season 86
Season 85 was one of the bigger Clash Royale updates this year. The main pieces:
- Princess Evolution: icy arrows that slow and leave a freeze field on death
- Hero Tombstone: summons Tomb Queen, 6 Elixir building destroyer
- Princess Gambit: 40 random cards, sudden death, no deck building
- Collection Levels replaced the old progress system: progress based on card levels, simpler and more frequent rewards
- Mastery rework: tasks give only Gold now, with Gems and Wild Cards moved to Collection Level milestones
The progression overhaul matters most heading into Season 86. Collection Levels reward players more often than the old system, and the first round of celebration rewards went out in Season 85. Season 86 is where we see how that reward rhythm actually feels across a full season.
