2026-09-18
The Genshin Impact 7.1 special program airs September 12, 2026. Here's the start time, where to watch, and what Primogem codes to expect.
HoYoverse has set the date. The Genshin Impact 7.1 special program goes live on September 12, 2026, and it's where the studio pulls back the curtain on the next version update. If you want the new characters, the events, and those always-appreciated Primogem codes, this is the stream to catch. Here's the full rundown: when it starts, where to watch, and what the Genshin Impact 7.1 preview is likely to show.
Genshin Impact is an open world action RPG that combines exploration, character collection, and elemental combat.
When Does the Genshin Impact 7.1 Special Program Start?
The date is September 12, 2026. The exact clock hasn't been pinned down on every official channel yet, but Genshin Impact special programs follow a consistent pattern, and the 7.1 livestream won't be an exception.
The global English stream usually goes live in the early morning US Eastern time, with the Chinese stream running earlier the same day. If you're planning around it, here's roughly how that shakes out:
- US East (ET): early morning, September 12
- US West (PT): shortly after midnight, September 12
- UK (GMT): mid-morning, September 12
- Central Europe (CET): late morning, September 12
- Japan / Korea (JST / KST): evening, September 12
- Australia (AEST): late evening, September 12
Don't treat those as exact. HoYoverse confirms the precise start time on its X account and HoYoLAB a day or two before. Check there on September 11, and you'll get the real number.
Where to Watch the Genshin Impact 7.1 Livestream
You've got a few clean options for the Genshin Impact 7.1 special program, and none of them cost anything.
- YouTube: The official Genshin Impact channel is the easiest place to catch it live, and the full stream stays up as a VOD afterward if you miss it.
- Twitch: HoYoverse mirrors the same broadcast on its official Twitch channel.
One tip worth filing away: the redeem codes drop during the stream, and they expire fast. Sit through it live if you can, or at least have a friend grab the codes for you.
What to Expect From the Genshin Impact 7.1 Preview
This is the part most players tune in for. Every Genshin Impact special program follows the same rough shape, and the 7.1 preview will be no different.
- Three Genshin Impact redeem codes. This is the main event for free-to-play players. HoYoverse hands out three codes during each special program, worth 300 Primogems total, and each one expires within about a day. Redeem them through the in-game menu or the official website before they're gone.
- New character reveals. Version 7.0 brought Snezhnaya and characters like Sandrone and Odette into the story, and the 7.1 update is expected to keep that momentum going. The stream will introduce whichever 5-star characters headline the next banners, complete with gameplay breakdowns of their kits.
- New events and areas. The 7.0 update opened the Snezhnaya region, so 7.1 will most likely deepen it further with new quests, events, and exploration zones. HoYoverse hasn't confirmed specifics, so treat any leaked map or banner detail you see as rumor until the stream says otherwise.
When Does the Genshin Impact 7.1 Update Release?
So when does Genshin Impact 7.1 actually launch? The release date hasn't been announced as of this writing. Genshin updates typically land around two weeks after the special program airs, which would put the 7.1 version near the end of September 2026. That's a reasonable guess, not a promise. The stream itself will confirm the exact launch date and maintenance window.
