Zenless Zone Zero 3.2 Update Guide: New Agents, Story, and Events September 2026

Zenless Zone Zero is an urban fantasy ARPG that combines fast combat with city life storytelling.

HoYoverse dropped Version 3.2 "Their Secret Histories" on September 9, 2026, and it's a big one. Two new S-Rank Agents, a new main story chapter, a fresh area to explore, and a pile of events that'll keep you busy for weeks. The update runs for 42 days straight, ending October 21.

If you've been waiting for a reason to jump back into New Eridu, this is probably it.

New Agents: Claret and Nangong Yu

The headline attraction of any ZZZ update is the new character banners, and 3.2 delivers two S-Rank Agents across Phase I.

Claret is an Electric-type Armorer who headlines the "Bloodmoon Rising" Exclusive Channel. Her tagline from the official trailer is blunt: "No use begging now. It's over." If you've been wanting an Electric DPS with a dark aesthetic, she's your pick.

Nangong Yu is an Ether-type Stun agent available through the "Axiom of Captivation" banner. As the squad leader of the Angels of Delusion, he brings a different flavor to the roster. The update overview confirms both agents come with their own Trust Events and Quality Time events, so there's plenty of character story to dig into.

Each banner also features boosted A-Rank rates. Anton (Electric - Attack) and Nicole (Ether - Support) appear on both channels, so if you're missing them, this is a good time to pull.

A Phase II banner featuring Roxy (Wind - Stun) was also announced in the full update notes. Her channel "Cindernight Respite" goes live later in the version cycle.

New Main Story: Season 3 Chapter 3

The chapter title matches the version name. "Their Secret Histories" picks up where Chapter 2 "The Long Goodbye" left off, and the official description hints at something hopeful: "Miracles never appear alone. They're always accompanied by soaring birds and the bright dawn."

This chapter is permanently available after the update, so there's no time pressure. You need to have completed Season 3 Chapter 2 first. If you're behind on the story, the Advance Screening function lets you skip ahead after ranking up past Season 1 Chapter 1 - Intermission.

The new story also unlocks two restricted areas within Roscaelifer: the Porcelloy Research Institute and the Shrouded Reef Transfer Station. Both are tied to Chapter 3 progression, so you can't wander in without advancing the plot.

New Area: Roscaelifer Expansions

Roscaelifer first appeared in Season 3 Chapter 1, but 3.2 adds three distinct zones to the region. The Vyrium District is already accessible if you've played through Chapter 1. The two new restricted zones, Porcelloy Research Institute and Shrouded Reef Transfer Station, both unlock as you progress through the new Chapter 3 story.

If you're the type who explores every corner for hidden chests and commissions, you'll have fresh ground to cover. The update also adds two new Urban side commissions and two new Hidden Space exploration commissions in the area.

New W-Engines and Gear

Every new agent needs their signature weapon. Version 3.2 adds five new W-Engines:

Crimson Thirst (S-Rank, Armorer) - pairs with Claret, available through the "Crimson Thirst" W-Engine Channel
Neon Fantasies (S-Rank, Stun) - pairs with Nangong Yu, available through the "Neon Fantasies" W-Engine Channel
Bloodmarrow Coffer (A-Rank, Armorer) - obtainable through the New Eridu City Fund at Lv. 30
Catty Luck (A-Rank, Armorer) - available through Signal Searches and the gadget store
[Lunar] Semiluna (B-Rank, Armorer) - available through Signal Searches and the gadget store

The City Fund update also gives you a selectable W-Engine from a pool that includes Bloodmarrow Coffer, Radiowave Journey, Cannon Rotor, Six Shooter, Electro-Lip Gloss, Unfettered Game Ball, and Spring Embrace. If you've been eyeing one of these, now's the time to claim it.

Events and Rewards

This is where 3.2 gets generous. The update packs more than ten events across the 42-day run.

All-New Program is a simple 7-day login event that hands out 10 Encrypted Master Tapes. You need Inter-Knot Lv. 5 and completion of the Prologue. That's 10 free pulls just for showing up.

Angels Support Operation is the version's flagship event, running until November 30. It features three limited-time missions that unlock across Versions 3.2 and 3.3, and completing them lets you pick one of three limited outfits: Nangong Yu's "Heartfelt Support," Aria's "Cuteness Loading," or Sunna's "Delusions in Business." You don't even need to own the agent to claim their outfit.

Clink, Clank, Pinball Knight! runs from September 10 to October 19. It's a themed event with Inter-Knot Lv. 20 requirements. The flavor text is delightfully weird: "In this barren world, the Pinball Knights fight destiny in their search for the essence of beauty."

Shadow Chase Showdown (September 16 to October 5) and Chronicles of the Hobbling Crow (October 3 to 19) round out the major limited-time events. There's also a Surprise Screening Plan check-in event starting September 23 that offers another Angels of Delusion outfit choice, plus Polychromes and avatars.

For grinders, Advanced Bounty: Area Patrol doubles patrol rewards from September 23 to 28, and Data Bounty: Combat Simulation doubles combat sim rewards from October 14 to 19.

Koleda Potential Activation and System Updates

Koleda gets a Potential Activation update in 3.2, adding new combat mechanics to her kit. If you've been sleeping on the Belobog Industries president, this is a good reason to revisit her. Her Potential Silhouette is now redeemable in the Potential Archive.

The "Ridu Renovation Talk Vol. 14" developer post also mentions system optimizations and updates to Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel II. The Armorer Drill stage is new, letting you earn Basic and Advanced Armorer Certification Seals.

New enemies include the Integrated - ??? of the Scorched Horizon, Autonomous Tactical Unit - Ares, and a range of Special Offensive units (Lightfoot Rover, Heavy Striker, Grenadier Jaeger, and several Jaeger variants). Kusarikku and the Autonomous Tactical Unit - Conqueror also join the enemy roster, along with Airspace Patrol units.

Mobile Performance and Update Size

The update requires a restart on all platforms. On Android, the game prompts you to update in-game after launching. iOS users need to go through the App Store. PC players restart the launcher, and PS5 players hold the Options button on the game icon and check for updates. Xbox Series X|S players update through My games & apps.

HoYoverse is compensating players with 600 Polychromes total (300 for the server update, 300 for issue fixes), claimable via in-game mail. The mail expires after 30 days, so don't sit on it.
