10 Best Cats in The Battle Cats

Molly Reagan

We rank the best Uber Rare, Super Rare, and Special cats by their performance in Stories of Legend, Uncanny Legends, and event stages.

Catelog

After 12 years of updates, The Battle Cats has over 350 units spread across Normal, Special, Rare, Super Rare, Uber Rare, and Legend Rare categories. Most of them are situational. A few of them carry entire stages by themselves. This Battle Cats tier list ranks the best cats by their actual stage-clearing power — in Stories of Legend, Uncanny Legends, event stages, and the various gauntlets PONOS throws at veteran players.

    10. Pizza Cat

    • Rarity: Rare
    • Role: Area damage

Pizza Cat deals massive area damage to Black enemies. Its attack animation is fast, its cooldown is short, and its damage at level 30 already one-shots most Black peons. In stages like XP Megablitz and Black-heavy event stages, Pizza Cat clears waves faster than most Uber Rares.

    ProsCons
    • Cheap cost & fast cooldown
    • Area attack clears small swarms
    • Easy to obtain and upgrade
    • Fragile with low survivability
    • Damage drops off in late game
    • No crowd control abilities

    9. Seafarer Cat

    • Rarity: Super Rare
    • Role: Freeze + DPS

Seafarer Cat freezes Alien enemies and deals solid area damage. In Into the Future and Cats of the Cosmos, Seafarer carries entire chapters. The freeze duration is long enough to chain multiple freezes if you have two Seafarers on the field, and the damage output is high enough that it doubles as your main attacker.

    ProsCons
    • Freezes aquatic enemies
    • Strong sustained damage on frozen targets
    • Decent safe attack range
    • Freeze only affects aquatic foes (niche)
    • Long attack animation window
    • Poor performance against non-water enemies

    8. Balrog Cat (Talented)

    • Rarity: Uber Rare
    • Role: Boss killer

Without talents, Balrog Cat is mediocre. With full talents — strengthen, attack up, and cost down — Balrog becomes the best boss killer in the game. Its single-target damage at low HP exceeds 20,000 DPS, which melts most bosses before they reach your base. The catch: Balrog needs to get close to deal damage, which requires precise timing and good meat shielding.

    ProsCons
    • Huge single-target burst damage
    • High knockback chance to disrupt bosses
    • Large health pool
    • No area damage, ineffective vs mob waves
    • Slow attack speed and long recharge
    • Requires talents to reach full power

    7. Cyberpunk Cat

    • Rarity: Super Rare
    • Role: Crowd control

Cyberpunk Cat has the longest range in the game for a non-Uber unit. Its attack applies a slow effect at an extremely high proc rate, and because it stands so far back, it's almost impossible for enemies to reach it. The downside is that Cyberpunk costs a lot and attacks slowly, but once it's on the field, enemy waves grind to a halt.

    ProsCons
    • Long attack range
    • Area slow to stall enemy pushes
    • Safe positioning behind front tanks
    • Very low damage output
    • Slow attack frequency
    • Slow effect cannot fully stop enemies

    6. Manic Eraser Cat

    • Rarity: Special (Manic)
    • Role: Meat shield

The backbone of every serious Battle Cats loadout. Manic Eraser has enough health to survive hits that one-shot standard Eraser Cat, and its speed is high enough to reach the front line quickly. In stages without heavy piercing damage, a stack of four or five Manic Erasers creates a meat shield wall that most enemies never break.

    ProsCons
    • Ultra-low cost, easily spammable
    • Fast movement speed
    • Great effective HP for its price
    • Deals zero damage
    • Easily defeated by area damage attackers
    • Unlocked late in the game

    5. Courier Cat

    • Rarity: Special (Behemoth)
    • Role: Spammable DPS

Courier Cat is a Behemoth Stone reward that you can get relatively early in the game. Its damage output is absurd for a spammable unit — roughly 4,000 DPS at level 50 against Red enemies, and it attacks at a fast rate with decent range. For Red-heavy stages, Courier replaces multiple Uber slots with one easily obtainable unit.

    ProsCons
    • Low deployment cost
    • Fast attack speed
    • Bonus damage against Behemoth enemies
    • Damage bonus only works on Behemoths
    • Low health, gets killed quickly
    • Limited ways to obtain

    4. Ramen Cat

    • Rarity: Rare
    • Role: Tank

The best tank in the game for its cost. Ramen Cat has massive health against Angel enemies and decent health against everything else. Its cooldown is fast enough to stack multiple copies, creating a wall that even high-damage Angel bosses struggle to break. In Uncanny Legends, Ramen is essential for stages that spam Angelic Gories and Sleipnirs.

    ProsCons
    • Great cost-to-health ratio
    • Knockback resistance for stable frontline
    • Simple to obtain and upgrade
    • Barely any damage output
    • Weak against heavy area attacks
    • Short attack range

    3. Can Can Cat

    • Rarity: Super Rare
    • Role: Single-target nuke

Can Can Cat is a Super Rare that hits like an Uber. Its single-target damage is absurd for its cost and cooldown, and its talents include double bounty (doubles money dropped by enemies it kills) and speed up. In late-game stages with tight money economies, Can Can doubles as your main DPS and your primary income source.

    ProsCons
    • Massive single-target burst damage
    • High movement speed
    • Good durability for an attacker
    • No area damage, struggles against hordes
    • Short range exposes it to damage
    • Long attack windup animation

    2. Miko Mitama

    • Rarity: Uber Rare
    • Role: Crowd control

Miko Mitama applies a slow effect to every enemy trait in the game. Her range keeps her safe behind your front line, and the slow proc rate is high enough that enemies spend most of their time crawling forward. She doesn't do much damage herself, but she doesn't need to — she enables every other attacker on your team.

    ProsCons
    • Wide-area freeze crowd control
    • Long safe attack range
    • Consistent long freeze duration
    • Low raw damage
    • Slow attack cycle
    • Certain bosses resist freeze effects

    1. Kasli the Bane (Dasli)

    • Rarity: Uber Rare
    • Role: Generalist carry

Kasli the Bane, called Dasli by the community, is the best generalist in The Battle Cats. Her attack covers the entire battlefield, applies a surge that hits multiple times, and deals massive damage to every trait except traitless enemies. She outranges most threats, survives most hits, and the surge mechanic means she continues dealing damage even after the initial attack lands.

If you pull Dasli from an Uberfest or Epicfest banner, you've basically won the early game. She solos Empire of Cats stages and carries deep into Stories of Legend before any stage puts up real resistance.

    ProsCons
    • Long-range area attacks
    • Weakens enemies to reduce damage taken
    • Works effectively on nearly all stages
    • Solid survivability
    • Extremely long cooldown
    • High deployment cost
    • Vulnerable if enemies close in

A tier list isn't a shopping list. Your loadout depends on the stage, the enemy types, and the cats you've actually pulled. But if you have Can Can Cat, Ramen Cat, and Courier Cat — all of which are obtainable without gacha luck — you can clear most of the game's content.

For new players: focus on maxing Normal Cats first (the basic nine), then push Super Rare and Rare priorities. Ubers come with time and luck.
