Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 is live, and Verdansk just got louder. A new POI called Drone Labs has taken over the map, flooding the skies with Loot Drones and turning one corner of the city into a full-on warzone within the Warzone. Drone Labs: Verdansk's New Warzone Season 05 POI

The biggest change in these Warzone Season 05 Patch Notes is Drone Labs, a brand-new point of interest on Verdansk. Think of it as a factory that got hijacked and turned into a drone manufacturing hub. Ramped-up production means one thing: Loot Drones everywhere.

These aren't the occasional supply drone you'd spot once every few matches. Drone Labs pumps them out aggressively, and each one carries gear worth fighting over. The result is a high-traffic zone where squads converge for the loot and end up in firefights they didn't plan for.

The Armed JLTV also makes its debut in this season, spawning near Drone Labs as a military-grade vehicle with mounted weaponry that turns your squad into a rolling gun platform. Grab it, and suddenly you're not just looting. You're running a mobile outpost. The learning curve is short, and the chaos is immediate, which makes every JLTV encounter feel like a mini-event no matter which seat you're in.

On top of all that, a new limited-time mode is exclusive to Drone Labs. Details are still rolling out, but Activision's description makes it sound like a zone-control variant built around the drone factory itself.

New Weapons in the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 05 Patch Notes

Two new free weapons arrive with the Season 05 Battle Pass, both earnable through progression. Play without a paywall or whatsoever.

PML 5.56 (LMG): A heavyweight light machine gun that hits hard and fires steadily. It's built for holding angles and suppressing squads from mid-range. The recoil pattern takes a few matches to learn, but once you do, it's a beam on bipod setups.
ABR A1 (Assault Rifle): A burst-fire AR that rewards trigger discipline. Three-round bursts with tight grouping at range. It won't out-spray an SMG up close, but at 30-plus meters, two well-placed bursts drop a player faster than most full-autos in its class.

Both weapons join the existing arsenal and slot into distinct playstyles, with the LMG giving suppression mains a fresh option while burst-fire enjoyers finally get a new toy worth running. Big upgrade for both camps.

Warzone Season 05 Battle Pass and BlackCell

The Warzone Season 5 Battle Pass brings over 100 rewards across the track. The headline is Lawrence Sims, a returning operator from the Black Ops campaign who steps in as the premium Battle Pass operator this season.

Sims unlocks immediately with the Battle Pass purchase, along with a 10% XP boost and the "Infernous" Kilo 141 blueprint.

For BlackCell buyers, the marquee operator is Solace, clad in gold armor with celestial effects. BlackCell also grants 20 tier skips, 1,100 COD Points, the "Herald" Krig C Mastercraft blueprint, and access to exclusive skins for seven operators including Stone, Toro, Maya, and Niran.

BlackCell loyalty bonuses stack up to 50% for players who've purchased every season.

What the Warzone Season 05 Update Means for Your Loadout

The Drone Labs POI changes the early-game calculus on Verdansk in a way that affects everyone on the map, not just the players who land there. Before Season 05, hot drops were predictable: Superstore, Stadium, maybe Downtown. Now there's a new magnet on the map with a built-in reward loop that pushes more squads into one zone and opens up the rest of the map for teams who prefer a quieter start.

The Armed JLTV is the wildcard. Vehicles in Warzone have always been a mixed bag (sometimes useful, sometimes a death trap). The JLTV tips the balance toward "useful" because the mounted gun gives your squad actual offensive power while rotating. Smart squads will use it. Greedy squads will push it and get punished.

Weapon-wise, the PML 5.56 and ABR A1 won't break the meta, and they don't need to. Both are solid. The LMG fills a gap for players who want suppression without the slow handling of traditional heavy guns. The ABR A1 gives burst-fire fans a competitive option that actually holds up against full-auto picks.
