Genshin Impact Luna VIII Update: Sandrone Debut, Frost Moon Area, and Free Charlotte

2026-07-23
Genshin Impact Luna VIII (6.7) brings Sandrone, a new Frost Moon area, free Charlotte, and the Summer Fontinalia event. All update details, banners, and download info.
Genshin Impact's Luna VIII update (version 6.7) went live on July 1, 2026, and it's a substantial one. The headliner is the Genshin Impact new character Sandrone, the seventh Fatui Harbinger, who arrives as a playable 5-star Cryo Claymore user. There's also an entirely new explorable zone called Frost Moon, a free Charlotte waiting to be claimed, and the Summer Fontinalia event that brings a fresh outfit for Charlotte along with it.
If you've been waiting for the Nod-Krai storyline to pick up momentum, this patch delivers. The new Stellar Superconduct reaction Sandrone introduces also shakes up teambuilding in a real way. Here's everything you need to know.
Genshin Impact 6.7 Banners and Characters
The Luna VIII update features two banner phases with some heavy hitters.
Phase One (July 1 – July 21): Sandrone (5-star Cryo Claymore) headlines with her signature weapon on the weapon banner. She's a main DPS who revolves around the new Stellar Superconduct reaction, and her kit lets her deal reaction damage directly through her skills instead of waiting for teammates to set it up.
Phase Two (July 21 – August 11): Columbina (5-star Hydro Catalyst) returns for a rerun alongside Raiden Shogun (5-star Electro Polearm). Their signature weapons, including Columbina's catalyst and Engulfing Lightning, are on the weapon banner too.
Genshin Impact Frost Moon New Area
The Frost Moon zone is the most visually distinct addition this patch. You unlock it through the "Moon Gazing" world quest, and once you're there, the art direction shifts noticeably. It's lunar, cold, and full of vertical exploration — think floating platforms and gravity-light traversal.
Two Ancient Moon Relics are also scattered across the Frost Moon: the Nul Silent Stone Array and the Veil-Form Black-Body Cage Lab. Completing their associated world quests lets you use Moon Seals to upgrade them, which is the primary reward loop for the region.
There's also the Dunana Deep Pit, a smaller new area in Nod-Krai south of Mist Spirit Shoal. You'll get a free teleport waypoint there if you've finished the Mondstadt prologue.
Genshin Impact Summer Fontinalia Event
The Summer Fontinalia event is the big limited-time activity in Luna VIII. Complete it and you'll get Charlotte for free, plus her new outfit, which is a clean summer-themed redesign. The event also brings a handful of mini-games and combat challenges — standard fare for a flagship event, but Charlotte being free is the real draw if you haven't picked her up yet.
Genshin Impact Luna VIII QoL Changes
Some smaller but welcome changes in Genshin Impact 6.7: the lobby screen got a redesign that makes navigation cleaner, and the in-game cursor now stays visible during editor use, which is a small fix that anyone who's ever tried to write in their profile bio will appreciate. The patch notes also mention improved quest pacing and easier traversal across multi-layered terrain.
How to Download Genshin Impact Luna VIII Update
Genshin Impact Luna VIII is live now on Android. The update was a server-maintenance patch that took about 5 hours, and you'll get 300 Primogems as compensation in your in-game mailbox (plus another 300 for bug fixes if you log in within the claim window).
You can download the Genshin Impact latest version APK on APKPure. The mobile update is around 2GB, so Wi-Fi's recommended.
